About the Finance Department


The Finance Department oversees all of the City's financial operations, including the annual budget, appropriations and resources, accounts payable, debt, investments, payroll and income tax. The Finance Department is also responsible for human resources and risk management. 

The City of Harrison's finances are audited annually by an outside agency to ensure the integrity in keeping of the public purse. The City has earned an Award of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association.

Income Tax
The City of Harrison collects a 1 percent earnings tax (income tax) from all residents, employees, and businesses living, working and/or located within the City limits. Please click here for more information about the City's income tax and filing information.
