Volunteers with the Harrison Mayor's Fund are collecting toys for local children in need this Christmas.

Special boxes placed at businesses in the City will be used to collect toys through Dec. 15. Donations should be new, unwrapped, approximately $10 in value, and appropriate for children age 12 and under.

Donations can be placed in boxes at the following locations:

  • The Coffee Peddlar downtown
  • The Coffee Peddlar at Community Commons
  • 1860 Taproom & Bottleshop
  • Harrison Home Bakery
  • Lydia Jane Apothetique
  • Ladyhawk Events
  • Robin Brandenburg Dance
  • Harrison Community Center (300 George Street)

During the holiday season, the Mayor's Fund, together with the various local churches and schools, provides assistance in the form of food, clothing, winter coats and toys to hundreds of families.

The Mayor's Fund is a charitable organization dedicated to helping those in need of financial assistance in the greater Harrison community. The Mayor's Fund assists citizens in a variety of ways. With the assistance of Christ of Loving Hands (another charitable organization in the community) the Fund provides grocery vouchers, food pantry items, Duke energy bill assistance and occasionally rent payments. Financial contributions are always welcome and can be made by check and sent to: Mayor's Fund, PO Box 471, Harrison, OH 45030.
