The City of Harrison Streets Department is planning improvements to make travel safer and easier. Two projects will begin after July 1, 2021.
May Drive will be rehabilitated through mill and overlay, a process that should take about one month.
Park Avenue will be completely reconstructed, including curbs, sidewalks and storm sewers. The Park Avenue project will take about six months to complete.
Both projects utilize funding from the State Capital Improvement Program (SCIP). To earn grants from the State of Ohio, the City follows a scoring system to identify and apply for funds to repair streets where it is most needed.
The City maintains a master list of street repairs that are needed. Potholes and other street and sidewalk damage can be reported through the City's request tracker.
