Motorcyclists are invited to help escort The Wall That Heals into Harrison June 8.
The Wall That Heals is a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. It will be transported to Harrison via tractor trailer.
Riders who want to escort The Wall That Heals truck will meet June 8 at 4 p.m. at Versailles Indiana American Legion. The convoy will depart at 5 p.m. and travel U.S. 50 through Aurora, Lawrenceburg and Greendale, Indiana. The convoy will take Lawrenceburg Road to State Street. Arriving in Harrison, the convoy will turn right onto Harrison Avenue. In the historic downtown district, the convoy will ride beneath a large American flag displayed by two Harrison Fire Department ladder trucks. The convoy will turn right on Kilby Road and right Campbell Road. Riders are expected to arrive at JTM Food Group (110 Industrial Drive) at about 6:15 p.m.
Non-riders can participate in the arrival by standing along the route and waving or displaying their flags. On-street parking will not be available in the 100 and 200 blocks of Harrison Avenue from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on June 8. Harrison Police Department will provide traffic control at intersections throughout the City.
The Wall That Heals exhibit and education center will be open for public viewing 24 hours per day, June 10-13 at JTM Food Group, 110 Industrial Avenue, Harrison, Ohio 45030.
