HARRISON HOUSEHOLDS TO SAVE ON ENERGY COSTS

The City of Harrison has chosen Dynegy to be the preferred electricity supplier for City of Harrison residents. The Electric Aggregation Program began in November 2017, when residents voted to give Harrison City Council the authority to negotiate the most favorable electricity supply rate and terms for residents.

A letter has been mailed jointly from the City and Dynegy. Included in the letter is a list of frequently asked questions.

Highlights of the Electric Aggregation Program include:

  • The program is simple and households are automatically enrolled. There are no early termination fees.
  • Participants receive a fixed rate of 4.775 cents per kWh through the August 2023 meter read.
  • Participants will see the new price on their bill within two billing cycles of this announcement.
  • Participants will continue to receive one monthly bill from the local utility, Duke Energy. Dynegy will show as a line item for the supply portion on your bill.

Residents who do not want to participate in the aggregation program can return a reply card enclosed with the letter or use this link to opt out. Residents can also call Dynegy at (888) 682-2170 by July 12, 2021. Residents who opt out of the program will be served by Duke Energy under its standard service offer. Residents who switch back to another utility provider, will not be served under the same rates, terms, and conditions that apply to other customers served by the utility.

More details about the program are available here. A PDF version of the letter mailed to Harrison households is also provided here.
