City of Harrison community members came together to celebrate Christmas and the holiday season Dec. 4. The festivities included longstanding traditions including a parade and tree lighting ceremony.
“We’ve had challenges with COVID, the shutdown and adjusting our lives,” said Mayor Bill Neyer. “It’s great that we can get together and celebrate again--to get out in the community with our friends, have time together and continue to grow and thrive in our wonderful city.”
Dozens of businesses and organizations participated in a parade led by Grand Marshal Beverly Haas. She is a well-known educator who taught English for Southwest Local Schools for 28 years.
Members of Harrison City Council also extended their well wishes to people of the City through a holiday message recorded by ICRC-TV.
“From all of us on City Council we want to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday,” said Councilman Tony Egner.
“We pray that it’s safe and fun-filled, family-filled and love-filled,” said Councilman Ryan Grubbs.
