A MESSAGE FROM CITY OF HARRISON MAYOR BILL NEYER

The City will experience positive changes this year with a “can-do” attitude all over town.

In addition to Hillwood’s large project, many other meaningful developments will get underway. JTM, Harrison’s largest employer with over 600 associates, will undertake a $50 million expansion to add manufacturing capacity and additional local employment. The City, JobsOhio, HCDC and REDI Cincinnati are helping this project become reality.

You may have already seen the new Starbucks near the I-74 interchange. That is just the beginning of a long list of retail developments expected in 2022. A Michigan developer plans to initiate a 30+ acre commercial development on Harrison Avenue. across from Kroger. “Whitewater Marketplace” will bring a new in-line retail anchor, two Marriott-brand hotels, several sit-down restaurants, and several fast-food establishments.

Also on Harrison Avenue, McDonald's will be rebuilt. We expect a new retailer next to Big Lots, and Red Squirrel restaurant will soon open in that shopping center. We also expect a new restauranteur to redevelop the former farm market building on Stone Drive.

In our historic downtown, Valley House family-oriented restaurant will open at 301 Harrison with a rear outdoor patio; Tuco’s Taqueria & Cantina will open at 104 Harrison; a new restaurant is expected on Walnut; and several new stores are expected to locate to the corner of Harrison and Sycamore.

We are very appreciative of all companies large and small that have invested in Harrison, bringing jobs, retail, and restaurants for our residents. Our City administration and City Council will continue striving to make our community the best it can possibly be, this year and well into the future.

-Bill Neyer
