City of Harrison Planning Commission granted a Conditional Use Permit for Hearth Brewing (1195 Stone Drive) at the Commission meeting July 11, 2023. The action enables plans to move forward for opening the brewery Memorial Day weekend of 2024.
Conditional use permits are an exception to a site’s zoning restrictions. Before granting the permit, Planning Commission asked for comments from nearby residents and property owners.
The brewery will be located inside a structure that formerly housed a market for fresh produce, flowers and gifts. Owners plan to adapt the existing building for brewing beer and serving a limited menu of food.
Conditional Use Permits were also granted for Spark Christian Academy (249 Sunset Avenue) and Antiques Anonymous (10259 New Haven Road).
A Zoning and Use Approval was granted for Sandra Dee’s Atomic Boutique (135 Harrison Avenue). A lot split was approved for property on Dry Fork Road near the West Road roundabout.
New businesses are subject to fire and safety inspections before they are granted Certificates of Occupancy by the City.
Planning Commission shapes growth and development within the City by recommending zoning districts and appropriate regulations.
